FSBO Definition and Myth
Defined: FSBO – “For Sale By Owner”; a seller who is not utilizing the help of a licensed
real estate agent to market and sell their property.
Myth: A true FSBO seller cannot have an MLS listing.
Myth Buster: A FSBO may have an MLS listing, but advertisement as a FSBO property could be restricted.
A FSBO seller may have an MLS listing. Depending on the brokerage relationship between the FSBO seller and the listing broker,
signs and print advertising indicating FSBO status may be prohibited. This is tied to MLS rules and regulations and is
